Exceed has been helping clients transform their operational performance since 2005. Our approach is simple - our coaches work alongside your front line supervisors to improve safety, increase productive time, and reduce the cost of delivering wells
Embedded within your rig team, we provide a platform for the promotion of key safety messages, driving the implementation of a systematic, rigorous approach to planning and closing the learning loop.
“typically, a minimum increase of 10% in productive time can be achieved by going back to basics and working alongside your most important asset – your people.” (super-imposed on a people image as a quote)
Visual on-the-job learning is facilitated through the use of rig-based activity videos, filmed and edited by the coach. In addition to weekly safety videos, our coaches will build up a rig-specific knowledge library on non-routine operations to assist with planning and learning.
iVision is Exceed’s proprietary online tool for managing global operations.
iVision integrates operations, connecting the drillfloor to the engineering team, allowing a single, central point of access to all information necessary to execute tasks safely and efficiently - enabling the best from people and processes.
Our clients have access anywhere, anytime, as do our project management teams – enabling transfer of knowledge and best practice from one asset to another. iVision acts as a legacy knowledge base for carrying out similar projects in the same region at some point in the future – meaning there’s no need to re-invent the wheel, and making it the ideal tool for coordinating international operations. It enables development of local competence, with new people on board a rig, with accessibility to know-how, procedures and best practice. The main benefits include:
What sets Exceed apart is their ability to listen and adapt our approach to Client needs. Over the years Exceed has introduced various tools, concepts and team challenges in response to Client need to positively impact performance or rig moral and accelerate the learning curve.
Our proven methodology starts with a thorough culture assessment to identify baseline measures and determine the case for change. The results of this assessment feed into the strategy, the leadership enrolment an agreed project plan and ultimately the roll-out of the implementation process, following the Plan-Do-Measure-Learn cycle.
We enter every project with five clear, achievable goals:
1. Positively impact operational safety
2. Deliver a minimum return on investment of 10:1
3. Embed sustainable internal capability
4. Work with and evolve existing systems and processes
5. Agree our exit strategy upfront
In 2014 Exceed developed its own in-house Performance Engineer Competency training programme (PECP) as part of a commitment to localisation within the regions / communities in which they operate.
The rationale underpinning the programme is to enable our clients’ engineers to continue to embed and sustain operational excellence systems, long after Exceed’s exit. The training programme covers all aspects of the continuous improvement process – including the systems and behaviours required to deliver world class HSE and operational performance.
The programme, also used to train Exceed’s own performance coaches (Performance Coach Competency Programme), combines classroom based training with mentored operational training and supported e-learning – with each trainee given their own individual learning plan (ILP).
The programme allows both Exceed coaches and client nationals to be exposed to the same training and same standards – allowing for the embedding of a sustainable culture, driven by the client’s own team. Trainees have access to an extensive support network, both during operations and remotely from the support team based in Aberdeen.
Although a standard programme, the PECP is tailored to meet each client’s individual objectives.
